The hydrodynamic tunnel is designed for low speed experiments. The test section has a square section 0.1 m wide and it’s 1 meter long. In the test section is located the entrance of the dyed fluid.
The maximum speed in the test section is 3 cm/s with a flow rate of 1080 l/h.
The main flow is sustained by a submerged pump in a 300 l tank, while a smaller secondary tank feed the dying circuit.
The flow rate is controlled through the use of three asameters in the lower side of the tunnel.
The settling chamber is located on the upper side of the tunnel, together with a 1 cm and a 0.7 cm mesh honeycomb.
