History

Our first activities as a research group date back to the years 1988-89.

At the laboratory of the Department of Mechanical and Aeronautical Engineering of the University “La Sapienza” in Rome, Prof. Giulio Guj put the wind tunnel (probably designed in the golden years of aeronautical research in Italy by Antonio Eula) back into operation. It was a closed circuit – open test section – low speed wind tunnel in wood, with Ma = 0,7 (Umax= 24 m/s) and a circular test section of 39 cm of diameter.

In addition, a holography table was set up with Schlieren and other instrumentations.

In 1993 the group transferred in the actual site where a 75 m2 area is available and a little anechoic chamber (26 m2) is actually diffusely used.

During last years, several students and researchers have followed one another and have subsequently occupied important positions in numerous sector companies and in University important roles.
