Watch the speech by prof. Roberto Camussi, excerpt from the documentary “The Temple of the Wind – The Pininfarina Gallery 1972-2022”

If you are interested in studies on fluid dynamics, in its use in the aeronautical field, but also in learning about the fascinating history of the Pininfarina Wind Tunnel, we suggest you watch the speech by prof. Roberto Camussi, excerpt from the documentary “The Temple of the Wind – The Pininfarina Gallery 1972-2022”, made by Focus on the occasion of the gallery’s 50th anniversary.

Workshop VENUS 17-12-2021

1st WORKSHOP

Distributed propulsion noise and its mitigation through wind tunnel experiments and numerical simulations

 17 DECEMBER 2021, 9:00-13:00 CET

ROMA3 UNIVERSITY

Engineering Department

The workshop objective is to share the research results matured after 18 months in the framework of H2020 VENUS project. The focus is on the field of noise mitigation for aircraft distributed propeller concepts.

Best approaches for designing, modeling, analyzing and testing are discussed by the project team into an open and friendly environment where participants can interact to enhance technical aspects, to make existing cooperation easier and to pave the way for new long-term collaborations.

The event is organized by Rome3 University and CIRA. It is based on a four-hour workshop. Attendance in person is possible by invitation only. Video streaming is available for free remote participation.

ERaCLE project officially came to an end

This week the ERaCLE project officially came to an end.

It has been a long journey since the very start, leading to a hard test campaign on a complex, modular and motorized WT model, with many features fully remote controlled.

The all architecture has been designed and manufactured within the project, aimed to perform WT tests to measure the near-field and far-field acoustic propagation of single and twin pushing-propeller configurations, parameterized with respect to the propeller design, installation settings, and aerodynamic flows generated by the wing through controlled boundary layers. ERACLE is thus effectively contributing to the design of greener next generation aircraft.

Congratulations to the big effort of ERACLE consortium and Pininfarina Wind Tunnel, all the activities have been performed, making the all project a great success!
The ERACLE project has received funding from the Clean Sky 2 JU under the EU’s Horizon 2020 research and innovation programme under GA No. 687015
