E’ davvero necessario dover palesare su quali princìpi basiamo il nostro pensiero, quali princìpi motivano le nostre azioni, per quali affermazioni di princìpi ci batteremo sempre affinché tutti noi possiamo vivere in una società giusta?
La nostra risposta è “sì”. Purtroppo.
Come Laboratorio di Fluidodinamica “G. Guj” del Dipartimento di Ingegneria dell’Università degli Studi Roma TRE, abbiamo deciso di aderire al movimento “Equality and Diversity” (nata nel Regno Unito per definire e difendere l’uguaglianza e la diversità), affinché nessuno dei nostri utenti possa mai avere il dubbio sulla nostra posizione.
Sappiamo bene da che parte stare e vogliamo dire apertamente su cosa crediamo:
- Crediamo che il rispetto e l’educazione nei confronti del prossimo siano la base dalla quale partire;
- Crediamo che l’uguaglianza tra gli esseri umani debba essere il principio fondante di qualunque società democratica;
- Crediamo che a tutti gli esseri umani debbano essere date le stesse opportunità nella vita;
- Crediamo che tutti gli esseri umani debbano essere liberi di poter esprimere le proprie idee, i propri pensieri;
- Crediamo che ogni persona debba essere libera di poter esprimere e vivere la propria sessualità come meglio crede;
- Crediamo che ogni essere umano debba essere libero di poter scegliere la propria fede religiosa o di poter scegliere di non sceglierne nessuna;
- Crediamo che nessuno debba mai essere perseguitato per manifestare il proprio pensiero politico;
- Crediamo che esista un solo genere: il genere umano;
- Crediamo che la diversità tra le persone sia un valore;
- Crediamo che entrare in contatto con paesi e culture differenti sia solo una grande opportunità di scambio e un reciproco arricchimento;
- Crediamo che non esistano lavori da donna o lavori da uomini;
- Crediamo nel principio basilare delle pari opportunità e cioè che vengano valorizzate le competenze professionali con la stessa scala di valori e crediamo che le competenze professionali non abbiano genere;
- Crediamo che la disabilità non sia sempre un impedimento;
- Crediamo che la diversità nell’ambiente di lavoro sia importante, faccia crescere il confronto.
Is it really necessary to reveal on which principles we base our thinking, which principles motivate our actions, for which statements of principles will we always fight so that we can all live in a fair society?
Our answer is “yes”. Unfortunately.
As members of the Fluid Dynamics Laboratory “G. Guj “, of the Department of Engineering of the University of Roma TRE, we decided to follow the principles of the Equality and Diversity Act (born in the United Kingdom to protect the rights of individuals and advance equality of opportunity for all), so that none of our visitors may ever have doubts about our position.
We know which side to take and we want to openly say that we believe:
- that respect and education towards others are the basis from which to start;
- that equality between human beings must be the founding principle of any democratic society;
- that all human beings should be given the same opportunities in life;
- that all human beings must be free to be able to express their ideas, their thoughts;
- that every person should be free to be able to express and live their sexuality as they see fit;
- that every human being should be free to be able to choose their own religious faith or to be able not to choose any;
- that no one should ever be persecuted for expressing their political thoughts;
- that there is only one genus: the human race;
- that diversity between people is a value;
- that coming into contact with different countries and cultures is only a great opportunity for exchange and mutual enrichment;
- that there are no women’s jobs or men’s jobs;
- in the basic principle of equal opportunities and that is that professional skills are valued with the same scale of values and we believe that professional skills have no gender;
- that disability is not always an impediment;
- that diversity in the workplace is important, it makes comparison grow.
